The New Pipeline

Science has just made an interesting discovery that might take some pressure off of the Dems this election season. As we have already discussed, the Dems have a little bit of a challenge in their campaign with the rising price of gas. On the one hand, the high price of gas is making big oil companies richer and it's making it more difficult for lower income workers to commute. On the other hand, the high price of gas is getting SUVs off the road which supposedly helps the environment. Which side is more important? Will we support environmentalism and big business? Or low income voters and crank up the global warming?

It turns out that we might have just found the silver bullet. Apparently, Saturn's moon Titan is covered in natural gas. So covered that it is estimated to have in the range of hundreds of times more fuel available than all of the Earth's known oil and gas reserves.

You know what this means, right? It means that President Bush's plan to put the space program back on track might have just gotten a shot in the arm. With that much oil and gas available right here in our solar system, is it really going to be that long before GM and Ford get together to build a giant pipeline between here and there?

The good news for the Dems is that they'll be able to go back to fighting SUVs since the price of fuel will drop to $0.01/gallon.
